Blue Rose/ Mondrian

The pale blue tint of a dissolving rose

leaves the onlooker with nothing

But the tragedy of the known.

Though it is possible to imagine a burnished city

inside its folds,

where there is nothing to accomplish

except this fading, its cry

interior to its life of sighs
